It felt like their plan had taken a detour somewhere along the line, although he had to admit that some of it was his own doing. Moving to Dayton and turning the cabin into the habitat of a sociopath had certainly spiced up his daily routine, but now it felt like they’d forgotten all about getting him some new fighting moves and getting in to see Lady LeMohn. Now that he stopped to think about it, them straying from the path was entirely his fault, because using a second account had been his idea from the start. He still felt that it was the best method to figure out what Shoremen were doing, but just thinking about being recruited by Bishop and Nacron was enough to make his skin crawl.

Skin crawling was the theme. The save point Siere brought him to wasn’t in a safe spot. He entered at a dark living room of a small cottage, with a view from the window that made his stomach flop over. Some poor peasant woman was out on the street, held down by what had to be two vampire soldiers in dark armor. Her dress had been ripped from neck to shoulder, leaving her tanned skin exposed for the vampires to feast upon. Judging by the lifeless gaze in her eyes, she was done for, readying to turn depending upon the lore of the game. Siere was nowhere to be found, so he headed out to the street to bring some justice for the poor woman.

“Hey, bloodsuckers!”

“Really?”

“Yeah, really didn’t think my quips through before I logged in,” he groaned as the two vampire knights continued feasting upon what was left of the poor woman. “Okay, looks like I’ll have to let my fists do the talking here.”

With a sigh, Ando flexed his fingers a few times before charging in at the pair. In a flash, he was on the scene, smashing his fist into one of their faces. At least he should have. Instead of a bloody, nose-breaking, jaw-rearranging strike, his power gauntlet went straight through the vampire like he wasn’t even there, sending Ando stumbling forward when he failed to connect. The stone wall behind the group broke his fall, but not before his shoulder slammed into it hard enough to crack a few stones.

“Oh, good, you showed up.”

Ando whipped around to find Siere standing in the doorway of the cottage he arrived in, shaking her head while her brightly colored outfit quickly altered to something gray and shabby. The change did wonders for her figure though, which would have stolen any thought about the vampires were they not kneeling right in front of him.

“Why can’t I stop this?” he growled with a gloved finger pointed at the vampire whose head he tried to knock off.

“Uhm, a bit like your reporter’s bra, I suppose. Right now, they’re a part of the background. Why? Trying to save the poor girl? She’s been dead ever since I logged out.”

Ando nodded along while she spoke, knowing that everything she said made perfect sense in their current surroundings.
